Pros

Human Kinetics fosters a family-like environment where people feel welcomed and valued. Perks include an ESOP; on-site cafeteria and fitness facilities; educational reimbursements; and flexible work arrangements and schedules. Employees are encouraged to learn about and apply for open positions across the company.

Cons

While the company has renewed its efforts to improve the diversity of the staff, it currently has a low number of BIPOC employees. Some areas of the company offer limited advancement opportunities.

Pros

Cafeteria available for breakfast and lunch. Dress code is very lax, which is nice. Workout equipment available for use. Flexibility, but only if your supervisor likes you.

Cons

Lack of diversity, poorly trained leadership, questionable hiring practices, discrimination, favoritism, low morale, outdated practices. No opportunities for growth. Essentially an editorial sweatshop.

Pros

Human kinetics offers flexible scheduling, subsidized cafeteria, workout facilities, courtyard access for most of the year, employee-owned. Each department has its own personality, but all around, employees tend to have a positive attitude about the workplace. The committees (employee advisory, social, diversity-inclusion, community service, and wellness) give employees opportunities to be involved wherever they are passionate.

Cons

The compensation is on the lower side which can make working here challenging for a single income household. Employees are specialists in their areas with little crossover. Sometimes more efficient or valuable methods might exist, but since we don't always know what everyone else is doing, we can't always identify those opportunities.
