      Committed to publishing high quality exercise and physical education resources Nice facility includes employee cafeteria and fitness center Involved in community events Encouraged employees to become involved in workplace and community

      Didn't dedicate adequate resources to sales departments Had to spend too much time reporting on sales efforts, recording contacts... Company a bit too small

      Pros

      HK is great at encouraging the work-family balance, time to exercise, time to be healthy and establish work friendships. Good for a first job, fresh out of college needing some experience.

      Cons

      Communication and leadership. If you agree with the management and do exactly as they say without speaking up, you'll do well. Compensation. Perfect place to work if you only need supplemental income. Benefits. Most benefits are geared toward families and activities for people who like to spend a lot of free time at work.

      Pros

      Human Kinetics publishes and sells timely and informative health, fitness, nutrition and sports books and periodicals across a very wide topical area. As with most modern publishing firms, HK has evolved using computer-generated production methods for speed and efficiency, so information technology is a fundamental part of the company's operation. As for labor relations, this company cares for the well-being of its employees, as the employee stock ownership program directly involves employees with company success; the benefits package is varied and the options are very generous. The management team is a very supportive and competent group with a visionary outlook on company direction, and a focus on essential core interests, products and results.
