Pros

Paid training, almost unlimited. Great support from the OEM (Peterbilt)

Cons

Corporate management seems to be completely disconnected from reality and unavailable. Local management is either non-existent or is between managers (revolving door because who wants to be micromanaged?). The bonus structure for motivating technicians and parts employees is ineffective to say the least and it shows!!! They almost never promote from within even when it is deserved. Most employees do not feel valued or feel that they can make a difference.

Pros

Can’t really think of one.

Cons

The “family” culture of Hunter is a huge performance put on by senior leadership. When you look behind the curtains, the owners seem to have a tense relationship, rarely agree on anything, and do not trust their employees. This results in it being extremely difficult to ever accomplish anything. Not to mention, the PTO and holiday policy here is absolutely awful. If you really saw your employees as “family,” the LEAST you would do is give them the week off for Christmas so they can spend time with their ACTUAL families. When you first begin working here, you accrue only 10 days of PTO for the entire year and do not get any paid time off for being sick. Not to mention we only get 7 paid days for holidays the entire year. If you want to have the week off for Christmas, or even Thanksgiving, that takes up at least 5 of your only 10 PTO days right there. God forbid you or someone in your family gets sick. There is TERRIBLE work-life balance at this company. Salaries are also WAY behind the curve. Anyone who thinks this company pays well has never done any research into the job market. There is also extreme nepotism and favoritism at this company. They advance people based on their personal relationships rather than actual qualifications for the job.
