Good professional experience but unnecessarily political

+Majority of people (not all) are intelligent and good to work with +Exposure to various industries and rules/regs +Good IT support +Good benefits

Cons

-Culture can vary widely between practices - from frat house to hipsters. Usually more frat than hip. -Management competency varies widely at senior levels -Too much emphasis on facetime with client, resulting in significant work travel.

Pros

Very good level of work/life balance. Outside training sometimes difficult to get approved, but often open to motivated employees. Employees are given freedom to run and participate on almost all levels of engagements. High visibility available to junior level employees with c-suite level management clients.

Cons

Poor review process with results not taken into consideration for promotions/raises. Feedback difficult to receive from management and rarely given. Model of tracking utilization and performance does not reward or give credit for business development or training of others. Thus, a lot of the engagement work recycles dated material. Fair amount of 'dead weight' on engagement teams with a few 'heavy lifters' while others just push papers around.

Pros

Some of the more senior managers are incredibly sharp and taught me a lot that I didn't appreciate until I was in later positions. They definitely are incredibly professional and I appreciated the feedback and advice I received from my mentor!

Cons

I had an incredibly hard time relating to any of my co-workers who were in the same age range. I got along reasonably well with the older folks. The work was boring as hell, but I think that's more a reflection upon myself than anything else.
