HR isn't understanding about family matters that come up unexpectedly. There is an expectation that Hy-Vee ALWAYS comes first. My store does not follow break guidelines set by corporate -- there is an absurd expectation in Aisles Online that delivery drivers do not get breaks. Constant revolving door and always hemorrhaging workers. There is no official training protocol in Aisles Online which leads to new employees going for months without learning extremely basic tasks. The only upside is that other employees are understanding and we can commiserate with each other about our shared misery. I once found mold in the dairy cooler and even though I told a manager nothing was done about it. Dairy is being and has been rotated improperly for as long as I have been there, leading to yogurt packages MONTHS out of date. Overall, they have some pretty unwieldy expectations for $10.00 an hour. Some of the managers act like cattle-drivers to the point that they lose decent humanity and respect for their subordinates. One family practically runs the store.
