Pros

Decent starting pay for a grocery store. It was a job. Close to home. Employees in other departments seemed fairly nice.

Cons

Bakery hours were not fun to work. Lack of training. Lack of structure.. Varies by department. Very bad department at the time I worked there.

Pros

Very flexible schedule... Great team and people... Offered part time employees retirement benefits... I felts store management cared about my well being and worked with me to make sure I was satisfied with my job.

Cons

Like any service environment a grocery store can be a very hectic and stressful place. With fluxes in the economy hours can be cut or raised often, which leads to uncertainty.
