      Pros

      very flexible with hours, good starter job, fun environment, Training is mediocre. raise every year, but very little respect for employees.

      Cons

      micro managed, upper management doesnt have much of an idea of what goes on. Lack of respect for employees. Very few/NO advancement opportunities

      I've shopped and worked for Hy-Vee since I was 16; this company really cares! Feels like I gained a family.

      Pros

      Working for Hy-Vee is like gaining an additional family. My coworkers truly care about me and my store director and department manager have gone above and beyond to help relocate me to a new city. Before I could even work I shopped at Hy-Vee, and I must say I love the environment! Always upbeat and friendly. I have received steady pay raises throughout my time with this company.

      Cons

      I struggle to get the time off I need in the pharmacy department, but this is not the case if you work up front. As a courtesy clerk or cashier, it can be hard to maintain a steady paycheck. There are so many employees that a part-timer may struggle to work enough hours each week.

      Pros

      Very flexible and a great way to enter the working world. If you show your dedication and willingness to work it is rewarded with opportunities for advancement. Ideal for students or as a second job, with a fairly stress-free and friendly working environment.

      Cons

      My only downside was the irregular schedule, but that is pretty typical of most part-time jobs and in my experience it was very easy to communicate times that I would be unavailable and management was very accommodating. Had it been a full-time, regular position, I'd have no complaints whatsoever!
