Warm, welcoming, customer-focused
Pros
Managers actually see their employees as people, rather than as just assets or liabilities; always seem willing to make schedules work to fit the needs of their employees' life situations; non-union, so there was no class struggle between workers and management; lateral movement in the company was very smooth and even some vertical movement without really having pre-requisite training to get there
Cons
upper echelons of the company now seem shout out from those without specific degrees; gone are the days when one might rise from the ranks of "cart collector" to VP of Ops, etc.; some of their choices for promotion to managment positions seemed misguided by favoritism towards the promoted parties' charism or insider influence rather than actual management ability
