      Great first job, but wouldn't want to stay there after highschool.

      Pros

      Hire young people, decent pay for highschool, some flexibility with school schedules, and cashier experience will help to get a better job in the future

      Cons

      Management is somewhat wishy washy. I had some really great mangers, but also some that thought they were a whole lot more qualified than they were.

      Pros

      HyVee is a small company in which you can get to know other people you are working with pretty well.

      Cons

      The store director has too much involvement in the pharmacy department and does not allow the pharmacy manager to actually manage their own department.

      Pros

      The management is young, but very supportive of employees. It is a fun work environment and everyone is flexible with time off requests. Extensive training.

      Cons

      Hy-Vee hires a lot of high school students. On one hand it is good to give kids their first job, the downside is that many are pretty immature and can be difficult to work with at times. Some of the training can be pretty redundant
