      Pros

      Pay is fair to slightly above average for the most part, and their benefits for employees, plus the monthly bonus once the store starts making a profit is a great push for employees. They're usually incredibly flexible with hours, barring some special circumstances.

      Cons

      You're not going to be standing around doing nothing, for the most part. They work you hard, but not unreasonably so. Sometimes, and obviously this is true with every job, people take out their stress on you for no reason.

      Pros

      The staff can be quite pleasant but are often inadequately trained.

      Cons

      Store managers consistently try to micromanage the pharmacy staff and the Department Head. The company is run by individuals who started out life as baggers. It shows. Hy-Vee does everything it can to nickel and dime the pharmacy department supporting it with aging equipment and an understaffed support department. If you are the new hire expect to be abused by everyone above you in respect to your schedule. When I worked there during two separate stints, I seldom got bathroom breaks and seldom got to eat lunch.
