Pros

Benefits are good and you’ll be paid highly

Cons

If you are salaried or a department manager based on commission Hy-Vee will act like they own you. They expect you to work 70+ hours a week to pick up the slack created by not staffing departments appropriately. They don’t care when you need to be off to take care of a sick child, they just ask what day you’re going to work longer to make it up. I had a pregnant coworker who was expected to work as physically hard as everyone who wasn’t pregnant up to the day she started her maternity leave.
