Pros

High level of independence and project ownership; excellent social vibe and company culture; high degree of pride in work; hyperloops are sexy, and its fun to impress your friends with your involvement with them; free catered lunch is provided every day; pretty damn good office coffee; complimentary personal trainer comes every Tuesday and Thursday; all in all, great place to work.

Cons

Swallowing your pride and reconciling yourself with the fact that you are working for a 'start up', after having poked fun at start up culture for much of your adult life.

Pros

I'm a recent hire, employed for less than a month. Firstly, everyone here is great. Friendly demeanor, diverse backgrounds, eclectic personalities and super smart. Anyone who's ever worked with difficult co-workers knows that the wrong people make any place to work, the wrong place to work. The work environment is very refreshing. Even as a new employee, I feel free to voice my opinions and concerns, be it about the snacks or the direction of new design. In fact, expression is encouraged. It's very clear when they hire you, it's because you have something to offer. So speak up if you have something to say. Perhaps most importantly, the goal we're working toward here is significant. The impact will not be to a certain demographic or certain locale, it will be global. And transformative. When all is said and done, I'll be able to proudly say that I was working to make a difference. A real difference. For everyone.

Cons

It's a bit of a hassle to get to tucked away in the arts district of downtown LA. On the flip side, it's an awesome area of town and the trip to work constantly reminds me why we do what we do.

Pros

Great company culture in promoting diversity and a team-oriented environment. There is no dress code or personal office space so everyone is treated the same: With respect. The work environment is laid-back and therefore people feel comfortable in their work space, this enhances productivity and loyalty. All of the equipment is brand new and employees are provided with all of the tools that they need to succeed. There is free catered lunch and snacks with healthy and vegan options. Pay is great and per experience, along with the benefits.

Cons

It is located close to downtown so time management is crucial in getting to work. Also since company and industry are relatively new, there are processes and requirements that still need to be defined and this could be challenging for new or novice employees. It's better to be independent, self-motivated and assertive to more effectively work here.

Pros

Hyperloop One is a fast-paced, intense, work environment with plenty of intelligent and sociable coworkers. Engineers have a lot of freedom and room for creativity and collaboration. Few to none of the bureaucratic policies and procedures that slow down progress in more corporate environments.

Cons

Some growing pains as far as company organization and communication go. Work life balance can get a bit crazy.
