Zero Transparency - Toxic Culture

Pros

The interview process was efficient and simple My colleagues were extremely nice and welcoming Large enough organization with room to move around if needed

Cons

Zero Transparency: It is a family-run company and though the owners can act nice enough in group settings, they do not respect the intelligence and the effort of their employees. Proof of this is in the very flat org structure. The owners like to control everyone and don't trust the people that they hire. They also will lie to your face without reason. Watch out when agreeing to any benefits plan. They don't make you aware but their RRSP matching is forfeited if you are with the company for less than 2 years. Toxic working environment - it is not uncommon to be spoken to in an unprofessional manner by superiors. It's a boys club at the top. The owners are very cheap and will only provide you with the very minimum in every aspect so if something seems too good to be true- it probably is.

We understand employment termination decisions are not always well received. We are glad that the employee onboarding was found to be thoughtful. We make sure that every employee goes through an orientation session with a member of our HR department to explain all benefits that are being provided, including the RRSP/DPSP program’s vesting period which is common practice. We are also proud of our diverse executive team which includes key positions being led by women. Pros

Amazing improvement compared to 2-3yrs ago. This company has taken a turn for the better. Sharing a clear vision and values with all employees; continuously engaging them and acknowledging the part they play in the company’s success. Salaries are becoming more competitive. It is a very exciting time to be part of Hypertec.

Cons

Fast paced, may not be for everyone, but people with enthusiasm and who are self-motivated will thrive in this company.
