Pros

Work with a lot of amazing and talented peers Products are cutting edge and impactful Learn a lot through large amount of training available Pays well Heavy social good activities in and outside of company

Cons

Management culture is toxic Fractured implementation of strategy Majority of high-level decisions made in vacuums Executive decisions made with limited or anecdotal information Leadership is over-confident and under-informed Don't practice social good within own day-to-day management and work practices Poor feedback loops between lower and upper levels Very inefficient work practices Excessive amount of work hours and demands outside of normal working hours

Pros

Smart coworkers for the most part.

Cons

Lots of organizational thrashing. So-so management. Lots of management churning. IBM squandered its lead in AI with Watson. Now it's way behind its competition -- Microsoft and Google. Unclear if they can catch up.
