Pros
- Great opportunity to work on a completely proprietary computation stack, from the processors up to the applications running on it - Taking advantage of being able to use and influence pre-release hardware/software - Participating in the only company that's been around since the beginning of the computer industry, and has shaped so much of every part of it - Practically the only company which does long-term academic research--on par with universities
Cons
- Depending on which team you're on, work/life balance can be miserable - There are positions that equal or exceed the coolness factor of anything at the other tech giants, but on average, most positions are probably worse
