Pros

Smart people to work with

Cons

Antiquated annual rating system that demotivates and makes managers artificially push people down in the ratings, bonus and salary based on rating so it reduces the majority of the employees payouts No 401k match, makes it hard to build retirement Has 2x a year mass layoffs, not based on performance alone

Pros

There is opportunity within the company to professionally development. Having the right support and management is key.

Cons

There is not much support for bad management. Whole teams are being led by people who have poor human skills. IBM should institute professional management development for their managers on an annual basis.
