Pros

Work life balance is amazing. It’s an easy job where many people seem to be coasting to retirement.

Cons

The work life balance is amazing unfortunately because you’re never doing anything of value. The work can involve ancient technology and dealing with people who love that ancient stuff can be tedious. IBM loves the mainframe and really anything clients get stuck with as that’s the model. Make it hard for clients to leave. Whatever you do there’s 5 other teams that do the same thing and there is no central strategy for dealing with it. Everyone who does the same thing does it slightly differently. This leads to projects with a lot of overlap. Pay isn’t very good and bonuses are a joke. No one comes here for money though. They have a lot of lawsuits ranging from not paying commissions to age discrimination to being dishonest about revenue and no one seems to think they’re not all valid.
