IBM reviews

Work environment is horrible. 1 month severance after 23 years. Laid off for no reason other than I am older than 40. No clear career path. Overworked and under-paid. Great environment the first 18 years before my company got purchased, but once we were purchased by IBM everything went downhill. I know a lot of IBM employees in multiple markets and I don't know one person who likes working for them.

Something is terribly wrong when a company has at least annual layoffs (often 2 or more in a year) going back 10+ years. No genuine regard for their employees. No accountability in senior or middle management. If you are a part of an acquisition, you need to understand the clock is ticking until they start to include you in their “resource actions” (wake up Red Hat) especially if US based. Truly a shame that a once great company has devolved into shell of its former self.
