      Pros

      Very good treatment among all employees Flexible work options Respect and polite management

      Cons

      Huge organization that work with no coordination and brand units has poor communication. Role promotions, salaries raises processes takes too long No lay-offs that sometimes leads to dozens of 0% motivated people, staying years and years in the same role, no motivation at all and...they bother other people what DO want to work. IBM will not fire them...maybe it´s better to wait until they retire!

      Pros

      - Very cordial and upbeat team members - Extremely flexible work hours, since I worked remotely and had only one mandatory meeting a week. - Results-based expectations, providing even more flexibility.

      Cons

      - Lack of visibility of the management level above those I directly reported to. - Generally feeling out of the loop on many issues, though staff meetings helped considerably.

      Pros

      I joined IBM because of the variety of job opportunities within the company and it certainly delivered that. During my almost 25 year career, I was in sales, programming, marketing and management. They provided me with paid time off for personal reasons multiple times. Though they laid me off, the separation package was very fair.

      Cons

      It's a very large company with lots of politics. The best people aren't always the ones promoted to management and executive positions. Communication can be difficult because of the matrix management and, again, politics.
