Worst company to work

Pros

Good colleagues is about the only pro.

Cons

One of the worst companies in Washington DC metropolitan area. The company has zero regard for employees and their welfare, low compensation and practically zero bonus after making employees work months together additional hours because of bad contract deals. Their digital business called LEADS now ICF next with same people had one of the worst leadership. The leadership had no clue what they were doing, harassing long time managers and developers who worked for years with passion trying to steer projects with low budgets and heavy requirements on badly written contracts. If you are a good manager or developer you are tasked with several things on top of 8 hours of work be it helping other projects, supervision, mentoring, reviews etc with no additional compensation. It is better to be a contractor than work for a company like this. Nepotism is very high. It’s all about who you know versus what you know and skills you have. There is no work-life balance. At least in the LEADs group woman weren’t treated the same as men. Men were always preferred for promotions etc when woman at the same level were doing and achieving far more. Salary compensation too isn’t the same. If you need work life balance, better to find other companies in the metro area. Stay away from this company. Bad contracts, low fixed rate budgets, double work has been the bane of this company for years. Heavy turnover in the last several years purely because of bad leadership on the digital business side.

Stay away from ICF Olson

Pros

There are still some people at ICF Olson who put up with the toxicity and you might call them friends even after you inevitably get screwed over here.

Cons

Mediocre men rule the roost and have all banded together to ensure they stay at the top. There are fewer women in leadership here than any other agency in Minneapolis. I’ve never worked at a place that has zero integrity but tries so hard to prove otherwise (they use empathy as a tag line, it’s as gross as it sounds). You will feel the slime almost immediately after starting. Interns, use this place if you must and then get out. Just know their local reputation is so bad you might not even want it on your resume.

THINK TWICE

Pros

Possible to work with talent if you end up in a good group, and having a good manager helps.

Cons

This place has ranked among DC's worst places to work for a reason. Beware of any four or five star reviews; those are most likely posted management in an effort to hedge off a 1.5. star ranking. Favoritism and ego's abound. The support groups are sub standard. Salary and benefits are not competitive.
