Toxic culture

Pros

It's a job I guess.

Cons

ICF treats their employees as resources. They have zero interest in understanding who you are as a person or your unique skillset. You are not allowed to make mistakes. You must be perfect at all times; any mistake you make, you are let go, which creates a culture of fear. There is no room for training, growth, and development. Leadership is not open to the ideas of others. It's really sad to watch how horribly they treat people.

While we do our best to actively engage with employees and hear their feedback, we don't want you to suffer in silence. Pros

Nothing really stood out as a pro working here. I guess the only pro would be the remote work.

Cons

Toxic Leadership, Poor management structure, overwork employees, view you as a number.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We want everyone to have a positive experience at ICF. We actively engage with employees and are constantly identifying ways to enhance their experience—whether that’s through professional learning and training, or team activities (virtual or in-person). Have an open and honest conversation with your manager to discuss what you need to make your experience the best it can be. If that approach does not work, please reach out to your HR business partner to further discuss your concerns. --- SS

Hot mess

Pros

Initial hype when you join is fun

Cons

Several poorly organized projects, with gross mismanagement from Leadership, down... especially at the Director level. There will be up to 25 people on a team, several people with roles at the Manager level and they refuse to contribute to the project. I was led to believe that the agility of my team was '3/5'. It was closer to 0.5/5. When I brought this to the attention of several different 'leaders' on the project, I would hear 'Yeah, we should work on that' and nothing would change. At some point, I tried to improve certain processes across the team and I was met with hostility from someone at the Director level, it became uncomfortable to work here and without a job lined up, I decided it was better to ultimately quit because I was being micro-managed and essentially harassed in what I feel was a retaliatory way. I asked HR in my exit interview if they could waive the sign-on bonus, since it was supposed to be a means for them to increase my pay since it was lower than what I was previously making and I didnt feel like I was told the truth about the company during my interviews. They waited a day and just turned down the request without any real reason. I think a company like this is just unethical and probably best to be avoided. Even if you are looking for something in the short term, contracting is probably a better option to stay afloat.
