Disappointing, no loyalty to long-serving employees.
Pros
The team environment fostered good relationships. I truly valued working alongside my colleagues and made some great friends. The company embraced diversity and multiculturalism, creating a rich and varied workplace experience. The organization offered a selection of beneficial perks, such as Bupa plans and rewards for long-serving employees. For certain roles, the work itself was genuinely interesting and offered opportunities for intellectual stimulation.
Cons
Many colleagues were consistently overworked and highly stressed, leading to a challenging work environment. Less diversity at senior levels. Opportunities for social events in the UK were almost exclusively confined to London, creating a disconnect for employees based elsewhere. There was a clear absence of loyalty or recognition for dedicated and hardworking employees. Valuable talent often went unrecognised, directly contributing to a high rate of employee departures. The reliance on perk hubs and similar non-monetary incentives was not a reasonable substitute for fair compensation and a healthy work/life balance. Trust was eroded by instances of dishonesty from HR. For IT staff, career advancement was non-existent. We felt perpetually stuck in the same roles due to understaffing, implying that lower to mid-level IT contributions were undervalued.
