      Pros

      I was given actual work and it was what I wanted. I learned a lot during my time at ICF International. My boss was really great, he spoke to me respectfully and was very kind and supportive. Work life balance was great for me, I was allowed to work from home a lot and only had to come in whenever there was a meeting.

      Cons

      I did not have anyone to work with really so it was tough when I did not know somethings. Things were not so organized so sometimes it seemed like they did not know what they really wanted.

      A great platform for newbie policy consultants

      Pros

      People who work at ICF are very passionate about what they do. There is flexibility to focus on topics you are interested in as well as opportunities to work across many different policy areas. Flexible working arrangements with no expectation to work very long hours.

      Cons

      Salaries are not particularly competitive. A lot of bureaucracy with some poor communication. Not an established brand in the market yet.

      Pros

      Great matrix work environment, which allows you to delve into multiple projects to avoid monotony. Benefits are good as well.

      Cons

      There is no room for growth. If you are looking to move up in a company, than ICF is NOT the place for you. It is a high risk, LOW reward type of job. It is considered more of a stepping stone job, so don't get too complacent!
