Pros

recent graduates that are lucky enough to get a job here will be immediately immersed into a number of projects - it's a great learning environment. The people are mostly dedicated and smart.

Cons

recent changes in benefits have created a less than ideal work environment. there is limited opportunity for professional growth once you have hit a mid-level career position. the tendency is to consider your worth to the group in terms of what you can do moving forward not in what you have accomplished. it can be difficult to balance work/home, some weeks and/or months are intense.

Pros

As a large corporation with a well-known reputation, ICF has the opportunity to land some of the most interesting and prestigious jobs and clients. It attracts talented people who are good to work for and good to work with. The company is big on trying to obtain feedback from employees and trying to make sure employees are aware of what is going on in other branches as well as from the top.

Cons

ICF has acquired smaller companies and offices and brought them into the fold. As a result, there is definitely some struggle between the old culture and the new corporate culture. Most of the staff who have been there a long time seem to chomp at the bit, especially in offices that are more removed from corporate in Fairfax VA. Also being a big company, there is a lot of red tape in order to get approval on things. It seems like with the times too, the company is starting to rein in typical perks (pushing employees to use their own cell phones while subsidizing only $50 or so).
