At least in my department, there is little room for upward movement, and the work is repetitive and, well, somewhat boring once you're up to speed.

There is very little direction and support from management in my experience, although from talking with other people within the company I know it varies greatly depending on your team. Being billable at all times is draining, and professional development and education suffers as a result. The company sometimes seems to be too profit-driven, to the point of losing site of keeping employees happy. I think burn-out is pretty common in some parts of the company.
