Pros

ICF encourages telework (but many of their clients don't) and is environmentally aware

Cons

Policies and procedures changed constantly in order to save the company money and shaft the employees. ICF is rigid in it's review cycle and generally refuses to provide reviews except on their schedule. Agreements for salary increases due to security clearance increases were reneged on due to "organizational changes". ICF is one of the only consulting companies I've seen that doesn't allow for a 2-week pay period to let you flex your hours w/in a 2 week window.

Pros

ICF has a very socially-focused mission Great reputation among both federal government and commercial clients Excellent place to kick-start a career out of college (as an Research Assistant) or graduate school (as an associate). You truly feel like your efforts go a long way to improving the environment and/or the government's efficiency.

Cons

Possible to get trapped working on projects or in practices that aren't challenging in terms of strategy consulting.

Pros

ICF has a really good professional development program, and it's commitment to work-life balance is significant. Compensation is average to good. Benefits are good, and the work environment is collegial and cooperative. A lot of dedicated passionate people work here, and if you can hitch yourself on their coattails, you'll do fine.

Cons

Middle and upper management oftentimes come across as disorganized or uncoordinated. One hand rarely knows what the other is doing. Good people at the associate level often get overlooked until they head elsewhere.
