A good place to be ... for a while
Pros
ICON does some really important work. Who knows how many people might be healthy or even alive today because of some of the clinical trial software written to help determine the viability and efficacy of new pharmaceuticals being developed? In the years since I left ICON via an unexpected layoff, I have maintained pride in the work that I did there.
Cons
Office politics and favoritism! This garbage is what gets you demoralized employees. For years there was an end-of-year bonus offered to all employees; then it went away to placate the European offices and when the bonus did finally return, it was only under certain very difficult to attain accomplishments and only for certain people. Quit promising the world to the clients and actually get input from the people (most of whom are very good at what they do) who will do the work.
