      Micromanagement and Fear Based Culture

      My team has some excellent dedicated people.

      Cons

      Fear based culture. Old school management - must be in the office to be productive, micromanagement as CEO approves every project over 750k used to be 500k until people complained nothing could get done. Poor communications lacking trust and empathy. Decisions are not made unless CEO first approves the decision. Claim great work life balance but that is only true in certain areas of the company. Certain components like IT are short people and attrition is above 20% due to low salaries and long hours.

      It's better than going hungry, I suppose. A guy's gotta eat.

      Cons

      Senior leadership (up through and including the CEO) are completely incompetent. The "culture" is terrible. My company had the misfortune of recently being acquired by ICON (it was not my choice to join this company). Every decision ICON leadership has made since the merger has been terrible. It would be difficult to screw up this badly, even on purpose. There's a reason why ICON has such a terrible reputation in the CRO industry (along with IQVIA). My recommendation is to stay far away from ICON, and work anywhere else if you have an option. I am aggressively interviewing with other companies - many other people in my org are doing the same.

      Pros

      Only the people who are being beat down just like you everyday.

      Cons

      Everything, this company is atrocious. Allows bullying and discrimination. Treats employees like the are 12 years old. Has absolutely no career progression and the pay is a good $5-6/hr below industry standard. You can find the same jobs for more money and better benefits and tons of other company's. The company stole pay from employees during the pandemic. It's all around a terrible place to be and awful company to work for.
