      Pros

      There are a slew of creative & highly technical jobs within IDEXX, with ample room for advancement. The company is successful, lending towards secure, long-term careers. And the sense of competitiveness and culture of innovation means that there's a good chance you can work on something fun and rewarding!

      Cons

      Performance expectations and resource constraints can make many departments within IDEXX stressful to work for or with (especially IT). The relatively limited talent pool of Southern Maine means that you'll also have to deal with the occasional weak link, forcing you to make up the slack or lower the quality of work produced.

      Pros

      People who work in the lab (veterinary services) are skilled and passionate about their job, trying to get accurate and fast test results to the vet clinics.

      Cons

      There is a tendency of overworking the employees in order to maximize the profits but I guess it’s because the competition in the industry.

      Pros

      Excellent co-workers and management. I appreciated that they allowed me to cross-train in all departments so I would remain challenged. I worked there for over 17 years and loved it! If you work hard and are dependable, you WILL be rewarded. I feel that this employer treated me very well.

      Cons

      I preferred United Healthcare over Aetna.
