Pros

No pros. Unsatisfactory in every aspect

Cons

I had the unfortunate experience of working under this company. During my time there, I found that the two managers of my team were highly unorganized. Both Manager's consistently made poor decisions that negatively impacted the team and failed to take responsibility for their actions. The work environment was also unpleasant due to the lack of support and unprofessional behavior. The work environment was toxic, and there was little support or encouragement from management. The workload was overwhelming, and it felt like there were never enough hours in the day to complete everything. The expectation to work long hours, weekends, and even holidays made it impossible to have a healthy work-life balance. It was demoralizing to see the negative impact this job had on my physical and mental health. Additionally, there was a lack of recognition and appreciation for the hard work and dedication put into the job. The overall experience was draining and stressful. I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking a healthy work environment and work-life balance.

Pros

The team I worked with was wonderful.

Cons

Everyone is always overworked and I don't believe the pay matched the expectations placed on employees. Some of the emergency relief programs are an absolute mess. I could not, in good faith, continue working there, knowing that the people we were trying to support were not anywhere near close to getting the relief they needed. I've been on calls with colleagues crying because they are so stressed out with the workload-someone even told me they work 80 hours week more than a few months in a row. I was never surprised when people quit after a few months because some of the work is simply not manageable for one person. The employee turnover rate is very high and the organization is extremely siloed. I never knew what any other team was doing outside of my contract and felt extremely disconnected from other colleagues and especially leadership. If you are cut out for the emergency management space and feel excited by it, go for it. But make sure you are very passionate about it before applying.
