Pros

Having been at IEM over 5 years, in a variety of positions, I have seen a wide range of perspectives within the company. What I have found is a group of people who are largely committed to the mission of the company of building a safer, more secure, and more resilient world. The relational aspect building is still a major positive of the company, where you aren't a position, or a number, but a valued part of a team, and over time, a family. My growth within the company has been based on my capabilities, and my initiative. This isn't necessarily the best place if you expect to be excessively trained on basic functions, or want things handed to you, but if you're driven, talented in communications across a variety of mediums, and thinking critically and analytically, I'm not sure of a better place to work.

Cons

As with any company, communications are not always clear, with expectations and outcomes explicitly delineated and regularly laid out. Like I mentioned above, if you expect this to be a place where you'll be sent to a bunch of training, have a lot of personal development time, this isn't the right fit for you. But, if you are driven to learn and grow as an employee, and are willing to fill in on projects in whatever capacity is needed, and can research, read analytically and comprehensively, and write well, you can really do whatever you want.

Pros

Company has a good work/life balance

Cons

Company just did a massive "reduction in force".. Hundreds were let go with no notice. They strategically terminated us at the end of the month so that our insurance benefits end at month's end. So not only have we been terminated, but we have no insurance coverage.. I would wait a little while before applying to this company as they don't have enough work to go around at this time. Also the pay is not that great for the work that you are doing.

Pros

Work from home Holidays and weekends

Cons

No really training. Mngr was training to get to take calls 2 days after getting hired. This was csr position for nchaf, so a lot technical vocabulary dealing with mortgages, property taxes, etc. Their attitude was ask for help. There have been times where I've waited over 30 minutes for mngr or supervisor to help me. Call center deputy mngr supervisors would be on a conference call at the same time. Lay-off started early spring of this year. I asked if I should look for new employment. I told I didn't have to worry that I wasn't going anywhere. I bet he/she doesn't remember telling that. 2 wks later and I let go. Ghosted. No one would answer me as to why. I traned almost every new hire who came after me. Git the highest scores on all my calls 100% notations. Folks who ask the most basic day one questions stated after I was let go. Folks who messed up application and profiles stayed after me.
