Pros

3 day weekend The curriculum is already given to the teacher A way to get your foot in the door for a career in languages/education As a teacher you are encouraged to make classes fun The schools are all over the SF Bay Area, so they will find something near you if you ask them to do so. The salary is $35/hour after school and $30/hour if you teach during school hours. If in curriculum, then it can be 7 hours/day The chance to teach brilliant students

Cons

No benefits Holidays are not paid No travel reimbursement Part-time work for after-school (1 hour/day) If it's an after-school class, you only teach at one school once a week. Sometimes your students forget what they learned the next week. Breaks are not paid Materials expenses are not reimbursed Not paid for lesson planning/grading in In curriculum
