Pros

Fun co-workers, great hours, great PTO, good benefits, good pay.

Cons

Manager is awful. She gossips with her staff, plants seeds of distrust through her team, spends the day walking around with her hands in her pockets doing nothing. She is obsessed with saving the whales. She smokes and smells awful because of it. You have to wear the hideous yellow uniform, even though you are not a sales associate. This makes doing your job as a visual merchandiser really difficult, because you are often the only person in the whole department, and customers harrass you constantly.

Pros

Great benefits, especially for full time. They have good training on company history, concepts and how to be an effective manager.

Cons

They preach, "Create a better everyday life…., yet they don't practice it. They expect more than they are willing to give. They say it is ok to make mistakes, yet they write you up for everything you do wrong or don't do to the expectation of your manager, while other managers allow their employees do what you just got written up for. They expect you, especially managers, to have your life revolve around work. They do not have any work life balance, not even for part timers.

Great Friendships Lousy Management

Pros

Great friendships made. Fun job with original staff. Fun working environment (sometimes).

Cons

"This used to be a Fun house but now its filled of evil clowns" Don't know if this is only at the Brooklyn store but the management is really cliche like. If you don't suck up enough you're not moving up at all. Promotions are near to impossible unless you know the right people. HR is also biased one manager could have a file of complaints against them and HR will turn a blind eye and tell the co-workers to "deal with it."
