Pros

Great benefits, company respects employees, 401k, free gifts, holiday party, if you make a mistake, it's okay.

Cons

Store Steering Group makes some odd choices on some of the managers they choose. Usually someone who worked in a store prior to coming to the new location. Customers are animals.

Pros

For retail, IKEA has the best value for your money. Working shifts are flexible. Management pays better. You create your own schedule.

Cons

Some managers abuse the flexible scheduling. Can't tell you how many weekends where there were only a couple of managers in the store. Each store has its own HR staff which is a plus and a minus, when dealing with performance issues. The self checkout leads to more loss for the store. Advancement is limited due to the fact there aren't as many stores.
