Poor management bogs this place down

Pros

This company makes good money, and has many smart people working for it. Benefits are very, very good. I have made many friends at this place.

Cons

Management makes really bad decisions and won't admit it. You won't advance unless you're Dutch. They give low salaries but offer large bonuses, which are already determined in the minds of management long before you are awarded them. The place has gotten so political that turnover is rising quickly. If you take a job here, don't expect to work here more than 18 months, because you will either quit or be fired.

Pros

When you're in, you will be taken care of. Extensive bonuses as free lunches, beverages 24/7, fruit and candies, gym membership, every Friday's party at bar located on premises for free, annual team building trip located out of Netherlands, Christmas present such as iPad, bi-weekly on-site massages. You don't have to worry about the money, the best part are bonuses, which can be anything from 10%, depending on your performance last year. Great people, you learn a lot.

Cons

Almost none. However, when you're not wanted for any reason in the company, you will be fired in a hour.

Badly Managed and Very Political

Pros

The benefits at this place are fabulous. Most of the people are fun to be around (except a few who are not from the United States). Free lunch, massages, gym membership, stocked fridge all are very nice.

Cons

The issue here is management and communications. Both are missing and this is a well known fact but nothing is or will be done. The partnership is very dysfunctional so nothing really gets done and people take matters in their own hands. Very dysfunctional and badly run place in Chicago and around the world. The owners should bring in professional help and not use political partners to guide them on how to manage. The whole model is to bring in college grads who replace the older people. This revolving door mentality where you can never make a career by staying at IMC (because you will be fired once they find a college grad) is one of the worst I have ever experienced.
