IMC Trading reviews

I went through the full interview process for a role in Amsterdam. The process itself was thorough and the people I spoke with were knowledgeable. Compensation was competitive and they were transparent about the 30% ruling benefits. After receiving and signing a contract, I resigned from my previous role and began preparing for relocation to the Netherlands. IMC rescinded the offer. I don't know how going onsite for interviews and taking a holiday day off to ensure I could be present does not signal commitment to joining the company. No warning, no opportunity to address whatever concern they had, just a withdrawal of a signed contract before I was due to start. This left me unemployed with no notice. The inflexibility from themselves is a worrying trend. On that basis I would encourage potential candidates to continue with other opportunities to avoid the outcome I experienced.

- Lot of legacy code in some teams, and the associated need to convince a "council of elders" to make big changes - Can get pigeonholed into working on highly specialized stuff if not careful (ex: do 4 years working on trading GUI using old java swing patterns) - Excruciating lack of documentation sometimes - The comp is of course great relative to most jobs, but some other firms like Cit will pay much higher - If hired as a new grad (esp a trader) - beware there have been large cuts of those classes in the past
