Pros

Great health benefits Met some very cool people at IMG and in college athletics which could lead to other positions in athletic departments Great place to be if you are extremely motivated and love cold calling and meeting new people Pretty good training tools although whether your school will let you take the training wheels off of your new ideas another question We did have some good bonuses when we did hit our goals

Cons

Pay was ehhh. Don't get too excited over $10 an hour, but there is the opportunity to get to $11.00 after a year; and the benefits definitely helped once those kicked in. You will not find much room to move unless you are flexible to move out of state as there aren't a ton of properties in your neighborhood. Depending on which school you are assigned to will help determine how creative you can be with your sales campaigns and will often limit your commission (if they sell out in many of the sports you do sell) Many of the staff at the schools you work with are not very accepting of new people "on their turf" talking to their customers etc.

Pros

Great opportunity to see how world class event operates and lots of fun in them Lots of travelling, if you like that Very nice hotel and food when working for events Nice workmates Generally layback Absolutely free to choose how to get work done Very good work life balance if no need to travel

Cons

Lower pay When travelling becomes too much, you starts to have no life and you can't plan your leave or study You have to pay first then reimburse, sometimes that mean over a month or even two months of salary if you have to work for events back to back and no chance to clear your T&E Upper management decides things and does not communicate properly to the lower tier, lot of havoc Outsourcing things, keep outsourcing, no service level anymore Don't really have chance to move up, people stays there forever Company constantly under pressure to be sold, no big deal if you don't mind that
