Pros

Benefits are pretty good especially above-average 401(k) match. Flexible work arrangements are allowed and good technology.

Cons

Somewhat of a sweatshop. Never fully disconnected/round the clock culture. Fire drills left and right. No support in terms of staff or software resources. Poorly trained managers. No regard for the experience of the employee (career development wise and hours-wise). Feel pressure not to take vacation days. Negative and intense environment. Middle managers are afraid to push back on VPs. VPs are not engaged with the people supporting their functions. "We have a retention problem" has been mentioned on calls. They engage in employee surveys left and right - which is good - but a bunch of buzz words is all the promised actions items that are communicated as the results. Completely unstandardized processes are fostered and tolerated - it's a struggle to find out what was done in the past as records are saved on people's hard drives and time is not given generously to teach about history of how things were handled.

Pros

Ipsen is a great place to join for a ~2-3 year stint, come in for a bigger role than what you currently have with expanded responsibilities, get good experience in a variety of therapeutic areas, and go somewhere where they will pay you the market value for what you do. By joining Ipsen, you're basically buying the experience that is usually more difficult to get in bigger companies because of all the bureaucracy, and you can use that to leverage into a better role outside of Ipsen.

Cons

If you are not french you will not grow. Unfortunately, it's the french way or the highway. If you don't speak french you will most likely never make it past a regional leadership role (at best). Also, Ipsen pays below market value across the board which is a big factor in why their average tenure is so low and people turnaround is so high even within such a fast-paced industry. DO NOT fall for the "come in as a contractor and we will make you a full-time employee soon" scam they really drag the process and create a hostile environment for team members while they're in the contractor stage.
