Pros

Within my department, I work alongside some amazing people. Every is always willing to step in and help no matter what the task. I’ve been very fortunate to have a Line Manager who is transparent with work performance and career growth.

Cons

The current role I am in has been non-stop changing. They split responsibilities amongst different teams to alleviate workload, however, with particular tasks gone, upper management has decided to award everyone more studies. This means the FTE is not based off of #of sites but based of # of studies. I now manage 250 sites which is unrealistic. There is also expectation that we oversee Associates and have to report study updates internally and to the Sponsor but this is nearly impossible now that we are not hands on with files. Not only is the workload not manageable but it’s the expectation to perform above and beyond while giving us more responsibility than an individual can handle. Going into the new headquarters in Durham, NC was nice given the in-person conversations and collaboration, however, I received multiple unfriendly looks from Executives just for using the printer. This should never be the first impression from working remotely to going into the office for the first time. Very displeased with the lack of unprofessionalism.

Pros

Work from home. If you're curious and communicative you may be rewarded - or at least recognized. High turnover means that if you stick around for over a year, you'll most likely be a "veteran". If you're savvy about the structure of the greater organization, play your cards right, and don't act too smart about it, you could go very far at this organization.

Cons

Constant power-plays by individuals less grounded in ethics than the average person working around healthcare. Becoming a soulless IT company now, with low diversity beyond certain levels. This is a white/male culture that is addicted to outsourcing and consistently demonstrates a "race to the bottom" greed-is-good ethos. Leaders shirk their responsibility to set and stick to SMART goals. Some VPs - I kid you not - have literacy challenges in their native language(s). The C-suite endorses monopolistic dynamics toward luring and capturing clients - despite this approach being at odds with marketing itself as a "trusted partner". Some teams do well enough to be featured in newsletters, but most technology teams are always behind and under-supported by the greater division, year after year. A lot of talk of innovation, but IQVIA will always just acquire the parts they think they need then struggle endlessly to integrate features into half-baked "IQVIA" solutions.. the goal of these acquisitions is really "grab & gut" as their revenue and reputation is used to support divisions that would otherwise fail, and the salaries of Presidents, VPs, and Sr. Directors who would otherwise have no revenue to justify their existence. 3-years post-merger and still dealing with Quintiles vs IMS culture, which is complicated by a never-ending influx of new characters with their own hubris and poor comprehension of IQVIA's greater corporate structure and operations.

Pros

Management Makes their money - Good for them

Cons

19 years in my career with excellent reputation. IQVIA showed me the HELL and made me to feel the reality. Have been working for company "X" for past 5 years happily and IQVIA acquired the company and started laying off. They dont do Mass lay-off, will remove 4-6 resource on every 15th or 30th of the month with no notice period. So, it doesnt come up in media. Worst experience in my lifetime.
