Pros

Good way to gain industry experience, and pay is comparable to other CROs, but not a place to stay long term.

Cons

In my experience, projects can and do end abruptly with severance not a given, and some projects are full of,“Demi-God” leaders (commercial side) who bully field workers and offer limited opportunities to you based upon whether or not they “like you” as opposed to performance or length of employment. HR is a faceless department offering no protection for employees from this behavior. Company seems to be too large to adequately monitor actions of project leaders, and employees aren’t asked for feedback consistently, so nobody that can create change ever really knows what is going on. Turnover is high because transparency, integrity and trust are scarce. Insurance benefits are awful. (Aetna)

Not the same company

Pros

Flexible schedule depending on your department. Working from home allowed.

Cons

The culture of the company is not the same after the merger (that really feels as an acquisition, IMS took over). New benefits are not the same as before. In the past the patient was first, now the business/money is first. For new employees that start working at IQVIA it may be great, but not so for the legacy employees.

Pros

They will hire anyone. They are the Walmart of the CRO industry. If you are a stay at home mom you can get hired on to manage people with no education or experience in management.

Cons

Terrible line managers, toxic culture, no work-life balance, dysfunctional over utilization of foreign workers, constantly “innovating” in attempt to fix things that aren’t broken.
