Pros

I had a wonderful manager, wonderful co-workers and a great workload/travel schedule. Quintiles is a company that values their employees and will give you some amazing perks. I believe them when they say that work/life balance is a priority for them. Being a CRA is very hard, but they really did try everything in their power to keep me as happy as possible.

Cons

The problem for me was that I was hired into the highest level that I could advance to in my current position and I was nowhere near ready for any of the other positions I could have advanced into. I dare say that I was hired above my experience/ability level. A transition in my direct manager near the beginning of my tenure there presented another challenge as I completed much of the wrong training before being corrected on what I should complete. It definitely delayed my ability to make a contribution to the company.

Pros

Pays well, good varied benefits including RRSP, training allowance, option of medical/dental coverage or HCSA. If a manager takes a liking to you and you work like a dog without complaining you will do ok.

Cons

No work-life balance, unrealistic deadlines with not enough resources. There are so many acquisitions of other companies and subsequent layoffs, employees are constantly working long hours and putting up with difficulties without saying anything so as not to be targetted as the next cut. The company talks a lot about taking care of its employees but they actual live under an umbrella of constant stress and uncertainty.
