Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're delighted that you enjoy the fast pace here at IRIS and appreciate the variety of activities, projects, and roles available. Our people are at the heart of what we do, so we are very proud to offer our extensive UK benefits package, with free income protection, private healthcare, life insurance, 26 days holiday and 3 volunteering days, along with a host of other benefits. We recognise that we are continuing to evolve and work hard to support everyone through our growth, to take all employees across the IRIS family with us on our journey. We use a monthly feedback tool called Peakon to ensure that all suggestions, concerns and ideas are listened to. We also have an extensive range of avenues for communicating the great things that are happening around IRIS, such as our employee newsletter, monthly site updates, weekly emails from our CEO Elona, and our Global Teams Channel. We’re always looking for ways we can be the best we can be, and we would welcome any further suggestions. Please speak to your HR representative, contact EmployeeFeedback@iris.co.uk or leave a comment in our next Peakon survey. Kind regards, the HR team

Pros

A lot of nice people work there. I feel sorry for them. Some very knowledgeable people, though they seem to be growing fewer in number and more burnt out every year. Why they stay and put up with the madnesses there can only be attributed to Covid and/or Stockholm syndrome. Mental Health First Aiders (not sure why we'd need those! Just kidding. It's touted as a pro by the company, but this is akin to a really rough pub making a selling point that it has loads of door staff on the daytime shift to ensure your safety. I wouldn't drink there). There are plenty of opportunities to become one of the endless and unnecessary layers of middle management if you don't mind working for 'MArkeT RaTe' (honestly, you might as well just work in Burger King after all the unpaid overtime is taken into account), pucker up, and say 'yes' to everything no matter how ridiculous or inhumane. So you can get some good experience and a job title to put on your CV. Finally, if you are the sort of person who would dole out the maximum voltage to your screaming victim in the Milgram experiments, you’ll probably thrive here.

Cons

They will buy up and turn your acquired company into a burnt out shell of itself, replacing any genuine culture with hollow corporate values. Colleagues I'd worked with for years were disappeared overnight and not allowed the dignity to say goodbye and we were never told, leaving us to guess if they still worked here or were just ignoring our emails. There is only way of doing things, and that is the IRIS way. Unfortunately, the IRIS way seems to be a shambolic and reactive mess where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, arbitrary and needlessly tight deadlines, and operating under the antiquated thinking that one size fits all. Mushroom management is rife and you're just expected to go along with it with a dopey smile on your face. Very suspect and bully-boy HR tactics and senior management is untrustworthy. While I can't say too much about this, if you go visit the reptile house at your nearest zoo, you'll get the general idea. You will never be much more than a number on a spreadsheet. You will be mercilessly jettisoned no matter your prior contributions to the company if budget targets are in danger of not being met, or you're 'not a good fit' i.e. not a brown nosing game player who would whack kittens off the roof with a cricket bat if told by management. Dull, corporate culture and loads of lip service about being a great place to work, but not much action. Look at the absolute state of these 'genuine' five star reviews. They read like something a POW has been forced to write by their captor. Generously assuming they're all real, would you want to be working with colleagues like this day in and day out? All genuine criticism is brushed under the carpet using the excuse of, 'ThIs iS a FasT MooVing PLAIce wiTH ConStant CHangE, NOt for EvEryOne'. Yeah, just like how not everyone could cut it on the Bataan Death March. In closing, this is the close 2nd worst place I've ever worked at (first place goes to the firm that timed our toilet breaks and wrote me up for a late when a seagull did a giant whoopsie on my head while walking to work - sorry, current IRIS workers, I'm probably giving HR ideas here).
