Pros

- Some people are nice - OK if you need initial experience as a starter job - The cons unfortunately outweigh any minute pros.

Cons

IRIS is a badly run organisation with terrible management. This company has so much money, yet they are extremely tight and pay as little as possible. That’ll be part of the reason for the extremely high turnover rate…the other reasons are the lack of career progression, and the awful way senior members of staff speak down to colleagues. I’ve witnessed swearing, seen employees been bullied and belittled and overall have been astonished that these attitudes are allowed to pass. I left IRIS because of these reasons, and I wouldn’t even think of coming back in the future. If you are young, I wouldn’t recommend working here. They will abuse your good nature and make you work unpaid overtime, with no thanks given at the end of it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We have zero tolerance towards bullying of any kind and are surprised and disappointed by your comments. We sincerely ask you to reach out to Stephanie Kelly, our Chief People Officer, in complete confidence, so that we can put things right. We pride ourselves on being a supportive and inclusive culture and train all our managers to reflect our values and take any instances where someone has fallen short of our high standards very seriously. Additionally, paying our employees fairly and competitively for their hard work is of the upmost importance to us, and we're delighted to be officially recognised as a Real Living Wage employer. On top of this, we run an annual salary review process, offer pay scales in select departments to automatically reward employees when they hit career milestones, provide bonus and commission schemes where eligible, and provide a generous benefits, holiday and charitable volunteering package to all UK employees. Also, providing all employees with the chance to grow their career is very important to us, and we're proud to offer internal promotions, regular training courses, and development activities. We’re always looking for ways we can be the best we can be, and we would welcome any further suggestions. Please reach out to the HR team or email EmployeeFeedback@iris.co.uk. Kind regards, the HR team

Pros

Some of the people are friendly

Cons

My team was heavily understaffed. They send emails about mental health but no real action is taken to fix the problems. They do not listen when employees leave for stress or mental health related reasons, they say it is 'expected'. Management does not listen or do anything when employees have issues.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review, although we’re disappointed by your comments. We know Covid-19 has led to unprecedented demands on employees in many organisations, and we have invested heavily in mental health support to help employees who may be struggling – from training more than 60 mental health first aiders across the organisation, funding free private healthcare with talking therapies for all staff, providing a dedicated Employee Assistance Programme and running two weekly Workplace Support Groups for employees to discuss and share their experiences on a range of mental health issues, and running training webinars on time management, delegation and resilience. We know that it’s also important that everyone has a manageable workload, and we currently have a hiring drive in many areas with almost 100 vacancies across the business, including Customer Support vacancies. We’re also implementing a new system to support a more efficient call workflow, encouraging focus time, regular breaks and daily check-ins to help everyone balance their time effectively. We’re sorry to hear about your experiences, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your feedback in more detail. Please reach out to the HR team or employeefeedback@iris.co.uk in complete confidence so that we can help put things right. Kind regards, the HR team
