Pros

IRIS has great people working for the organisation. They are also rapidly expanding and are going places commercially speaking. My line manager was excellent.

Cons

HR and training is poor. There simply isn't enough career progression unless you are an elitist clique. There is an offer of performance based bonus where the appraisal doesn't actually happen and if you're lucky, you might gain the bonus in July (when appraisals happen in May). When resigning, HR are unfair and impersonal, even if you were hard working and good at what you did. What was very disappointing is directors don't offer training opportunities easily, and once you have resigned and working notice - you're dead to them.

Pros

- Lovely people - Great social culture - Some really good incentives - from bottles of wine to free holidays - Work doesn't follow you home, once the day is done at 5pm you are done

Cons

- No HR presence e.g. when probation reviews, promotions etc are made HR are never involved - Managers seem to have no training, they are just promoted from sales people and thrown into the role - Call centre like vibe - managers pace the floors shouting about how much money they need in an hour, the role is not advertised as being like a call centre which is so misleading for graduates - Isn't really a graduate role - Training is minimal, you're thrown into the role and kind of left to it - Big decisions are made without consulting the employees - Massively high turnover, huge numbers of sales force leaving - Office gossip and politics - 'Dubious' deals are really common and no one ever gets into trouble for them - No data protection, customer's credit card details are constantly written down and left around the office for anyone to see - Hardly any of the people who have joined IRIS within the past six months are still there or see themselves there in another six months, seems to be only the longer term staff who enjoy working there - Really difficult for any kind of progression, very few staff will ever progress and no one ever is offered the opportunity to move to a different business function - No real company culture or values, lots of dodgy dealings which means you compromise your own values to work here

Pros

You get thrown in at the deep end and learn a lot

Cons

Currently the company is directionless - there are massive cost savings being asked for accross the company whilst also asking for returnt to office at great expense. Constantly conflicting priorities and senior leadership decisions that never get made. There is a HUGE turnover of C-suite staff at the moment and already extreemly lean teams are being asked to cut costs which is going to have a huge negative impact on customers and there is no consideration of what is actually possible for teams to deliver with the resources given, staff are regularly put in positions where there is no possible way for them to be successfull in their roles and the company continues to pile on the pressure untill people leave - the stupidity of this is that those people then have to be replaced at a higher price than what was being paid anyway
