Pros

At least as an attorney, we get very good support. Staff is generally pretty good. I'm very happy with the people I work with. They give a great deal of responsibility very early on. I am the only attorney on a case, with a great deal of discretion in how to resolve it. I also advise the auditors, and have some discretion over their decisions. The work-life balance is excellent, with a 40 hour work week, plus if I work extra, I can use that towards time off. After a year, there is the opportunity to work from home, up to 80 hours or so per month. Great job security. Provides excellent exit opportunities.

Cons

Compared to law-firms, the pay is not very good. Roughly half of what big-law attorneys make (although the hours are much better). They need to put more effort into training managers, rather than just promoting competent attorneys. The computer systems are junk.

Terrible culture and leadership overshadow 401K match

Pros

There is literally not one pro besides the amazing 401K match. The benefits are cheaper but not the best. Maybe federal days off.

Cons

This was the worse job I have ever had in my life. Lack of moral and basic human care. The leaders have gone uncheck for too long and feel like they can say and do what they please to whomever with consequences. The older people preach one thing and do another. The culture or lack there of is disgusting. The building itself is deplorable and nasty. They don't clean. The mob mentality bullying is enough to drive the most sane of people crazy. Don't do it. Or get in and get out fast!!!! They refuse to advance mentally and literally. They put battery in the backs of the most uneducated and send them out to do their bidding because they know no better. It's sick.
