Pros

If you end up on the right team, it will be a great experience, but end up on the wrong team, and it could be a miserable experience. However, it's easy to move around, and if you are skilled, they will put you in a position to make a difference. I grew more in my 2 years at the IRS than I did for 10 years at other organizations.

Cons

Some teams are more dysfunctional than others, and you can't really control where you are put when applying. But, after a year, it is very easy to move around, especially if you are skilled.

Pros

My co-workers were nice and the new position was a departure from what I was used to doing but it was enjoyable after training.

Cons

The campus that I worked at was very cold and made working a bit difficult even with extra clothes and blankets.
