Pros

If you are able to get in and survive the constant threat of a RIF (firing) many people have made this a life long career. Supposedly there were opportunities for growth and advancement, however now with the indefinite hiring freeze, kind of stuck where you are until something changes.

Cons

Can not move up, they are only hiring for temporary appointments at the base GS -5 level. We are only getting a 1% raise this year. Morale is low, but who can blame the employees when many were let go, forced into retirement and the ones who are left are feeling low with the threatening emails and uncertainty.

Pros

They have great benefits, PTO gives you vacation and sick leave accrual. The pay is good especially if you have been there awhile

Cons

Current administration is trying to dismantle policies, stress of dealing with the changes. Many staff members left and work loads doubled. In some ways it’s good because we had no work before. Weak training programs, they look for volunteers to train people and most don’t want to.
