Cons

managers think they own the place. some dont even let you talk to your co workers although they dont do anything but talk to each other.

Pros

Since it is a federal government employer, excellent health insurance and retirement benefits are offered.

Cons

Very disappointing proficiency of training for the job. Initially, the only available work schedule is from 2:30 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. and with time, you may be offered a 6:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. shift.. Very monotonous work from one day to the next. Very low employee morale. No incentive to achieve or be the most efficient. Very lackluster coworkers. Difficult to receive vacation time off.

Pros

Competence of employees; chance to help people; work/life balance; ideas are fully considered by management; numerous opportunities for advancement are available.

Cons

Slow (if not resistant) to change; meetings for days; you'll get blamed for the work of Congress, which creates the policies the IRS follows; some shortsightedness in communications policies.
