Pros

Many of my coworkers are good honorable people who honor their oath to the constitution. The investigations are often very interesting and there is an adrenaline rush when you are involved in enforcement operations like search warrants and arrests. There are few jobs in accounting that leave you with a sense of accomplishment that you are doing something worthwhile.

Cons

There is a culture of corruption at the managerial level where managers protect other managers who commit violations of law and policy. I’m personally going outside the agency to try and have these matters addressed. You have to CYA . The good news is the bad apples rotate around.
