Pros

The IRS trains their employees. They have special projects to participate in throughout the year. Your primary job is to answer phone calls, but with some time and experience you can participate in special projects off the phone.

Cons

Many customers are not happy to talk to you.

Pros

The work is relatively easy to do. There's nothing complicated about it at all. The dress code is very lax, and you can wear headphones while working. If you need time off, it's not a problem.

Cons

Management is hit or miss. I had a very good manager and a less-than-stellar manager. Also, training is very hit or miss, too. Depends upon your manager...
